The wonderful Brancaster Beach

Families enjoying the sunshine on Brancaster Beach, with sandcastles in the foreground and the dunes rising behind — a lively summer scene on one of Norfolk’s most beautiful stretches of coast.

🦭 The Small Seal Colony at Brancaster Beach At the far western end of Brancaster Beach, where the sands stretch towards Titchwell and the tide carves quiet channels, a small but reliable seal colony can often be seen resting on the sandbanks. These are usually common seals, with their rounded faces and gentle expressions, though the occasional grey seal appears too. This little colony isn’t as large as the famous groups at Blakeney or Horsey, but that’s part of its charm. It feels peaceful, natural, and wonderfully unspoilt — a glimpse of wildlife that belongs entirely to the rhythm of the coast.
